Nature Guide Training – What Is Included In This Course and Training
If you are a nature enthusiast and love exploring the wildlife and elements of nature, then nature guide training would be the best option for you. This course consists of 60 days long experience. Moreover, this course takes place in eastern South Africa and surrounding game park regions.
By completing this course, the students will become a qualified Apprentice Field Guide of level one. This course and certification will be provided by the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa. Plus, if you have registered with CATHSSETA, you can also get the National Qualification Framework of level 2 certification at the end of this training course.
Certifications:
This training course is 60 days long; the candidates will be given in-depth training, so the students will be prepared for a Track, Sign, and Tracking assessment. In short, this training program provides you with the opportunity to achieve a number of certifications, such as:
- Nature Guide Training Field Guide certificate
- NQF level 2 certificate
- FGASA Apprentice Field Guide certificate
- Trailing Level 1
- Track and sign
- Full tracker certificate
- FGASA tracker certificate
The course:
The primary focus of this course is that the aspirants will be able to achieve the FGASA Apprentice Field Guide level one certification so that the aspirants and students who have chosen this course as a career opportunity will be able to genuinely begin their guiding career.
Moreover, all modules and components of the FGASA manual will be discussed in theory and will be demonstrated practically as well.

- Taxonomy
- Historical human habitation
- Plants and grasses
- Mammals
- Guiding in the natural environment
- Animal behaviour
- Biomes of Southern Africa
- Birds

- Amphibians
Assessments:
These subjects will not only be discussed verbally, but the instructors will also set your periodic exams in which different elements and aspects will be focused, such as birds, bird calls, frog calls, mammals, tracking, general plant identification, etc.
Students will be prepared for these subjects and have a warm-up exam, so they will be able to prepare for the FGASA main exams.
